Your role as IT Application Engineer

As IT Application Engineer, you will be a pivotal part of the Application Team, playing a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency, security, and reliability of applications throughout their lifecycle. You are responsible for incident handling, handling service requests and supporting the business in realizing changes for Nedschroef applications. You will collaborate extensively with the Business and IT teams to continuously improve the processes by adding the right IT Solution. Nedschroef is looking for a multi-disciplinary IT professional, who is familiar with different technical environments (or is willing to learn). They are looking for someone that can be on site 1-2 days a week, this can be any of the Nedschroef sites, in any country. 

  • Application Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy software applications in accordance with project requirements. This requires collaboration with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Programming and scripting: a proficiency in some programming languages such as Java, Visual Basic, C, or others is required. You will use these languages for automation and integration tasks.
  • Database management: design and maintain databases, ensuring optimal performance, data integrity, and security. In addition, you write efficient SQL queries and stored procedures.
  • Integration and deployment: integrate applications with existing systems and third-party services. Manage deployment processes, ensuring smooth and error-free releases.
  • Troubleshooting and support: identify and resolve software-related issues promptly. Provide technical support to end-users and collaborate with the support team.
  • Security and compliance: implement and enforce security best practices in application development. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and data protection standards.
  • Documentation: create and maintain technical documentation for applications, APIs, and processes. Keep documentation up to date with changes and enhancements.
  • Collaboration and communication: work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, QA engineers, and system administrators. Communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements and provide updates.

Your profile

In your role as IT Application Engineer, you support the business. You like assisting others and improving processes. You are a strong communicator, able to effectively discuss with technical and non-technical personnel. In addition, you have problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues. 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in software development and application engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages and development frameworks.
  • Knowledge of database management systems and SQL.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and services.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
